Odisha’s Roza Rana Second Runners-Up In India’s Best Dancer Season 2; Know Her Story

Bhubaneswar: Roza Rana of Odisha was adjudged second runners-up at the finale of India’s Best Dancer Season 2 on Sunday night while Saumya Kamble took home the trophy, a car and a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh.

The runners-up were awarded  Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, Sony Entertainment Television also awarded each of them with a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.

The Season 2 of the show was judged by Terence Lewis, Geeta Kapur and Malaika Arora. Shilpa Shetty Kundra chipped in for Maliaka during the finale as she could not make it due to some health issues.

Sanam Johar was Roza’s choreographer in the show.

Speaking to CineBlitz, she said that  India’s Best Dancer gave her a platform not only to interact but also to perform in front of eminent personalities. “My most favorite memory would be when Vani Kapoor came on the show. We reminisced about the good old days when we worked together on the song ‘Ghungaroo’. At that time, I felt that life has truly come a full circle. Sharing the stage with Vani was definitely one of the biggest highlights for me this season,” she said.

She picked her ‘Rakht Bheej’ act on the song ‘Rakht Charitra’ as her best performance till date. “I love to experiment with all kinds of dance styles and techniques. From hip-hop to contemporary freestyle, Sanam and I have tried to explore different techniques every week as we like to keep challenging ourselves,” she added.

Born in Cuttack, Roza did her schooling at St. Joseph’s Convent School in Rourkela,

She began her professional career in 2015 by collaborating with Boogie Woogie. In 2016, she was one of the 20 contestants who appeared in the dance reality show “So You Think You Can Dance”.

Roza also appeared in the reality TV show Nach Baliye, Super Dancer and Dance India Dance Little Masters as a choreographer. She has also choreographed Bollywood celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Tiger Shroff, Vicky Kaushal, and Jacqueline Fernandez.
