Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered almost 30 per cent rise in daily COVID caseload on Friday with 1,043 fresh cases being detected in the last 24 hours. The new infectees include 100 in the 0-18 years age group.
The state had reported 804 infections on Thursday and 743 on Wednesday with a test positivity rate (TPR) above 4 per cent.
Among the new cases, 609 are from quarantine and 434 local contacts. These cases have been detected from 28 districts with Khurda registering the highest of 335 followed by Cuttack (205) and Sundargarh (106).

With these cases being detected from 18,664 samples, the TPR has also gone up to 5.58 per cent.
