Bangalore: Ohwow!, a Bangalore and Bay Area-based early-stage tech start-up, is the only company with an all-Indian-origin team selected by Techstars Iowa,
American seed accelerator Techstar announced a list of 10 companies under its Iowa program, which focuses on startups addressing innovations across a broad technology landscape.
Making it to that elite group of 10 is our homegrown ‘Ohwow!’. The startup has two apps in the market — Ohwow! and BharatShare, a file-sharing app. The company is founded by Utkarsh Roy, a University of Toronto and Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business (ignite) alumni.
The cohort will run for 13 weeks, from September to December 2020. Startups included in the program will receive funding along with additional larger funds post program end.
The program is being led by Techstars Iowa Managing Director Kerty Levy, reported clayandmilk.com.
Techstars is one of the most reputed programmes globally. Getting into Techstars is more difficult than Harvard and MIT. Collectively, Techstars companies have a market cap of more than $26 billion. It has raised more than $9 billion capital, and has over 14,000 investors and around 7,000 mentors who work closely with entrepreneurs to help them succeed.
