The legendary Bengali poet and social reformer originally composed the song as ‘Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata’ in Bengali in December 1911. The song’s first stanza was adopted by the Indian Constitution as the National Anthem in January 1950.

Tagore’s original handwritten translation shows that the English name of ‘Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata’ was ‘The Morning Song of India’.

In five-and-a-half hours since being posted on X by the Nobel Prize, it has been viewed by more than 1.5 lakh users, reposted 1,100 times and liked by around 4,600 netizens at the time of filing this report.
