Hyderabad: Even as Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ continues to rule the box office, a brawl during the screening of the film at a Hyderabad theatre over a Hindi-Telugu mashup led to the show being halted.
The much-awaited sequel of the spy-thriller was released in all south Indian languages and Hindi.
The chaos began when a theatre in Hyderabad sold tickets for both Hindi and Telugu versions for the same screen.
In a video shared by an Instagram user, viewers were seen arguing with each other as the multiplex had issued tickets for both versions for one screen.
The Insta user claimed that she had booked tickets at a PVR multiplex in Next Galleria Mall, in Punjagutta.
In the viral video, the audience is seen arguing about which version should be played on the screen.
A woman is heard screaming, “But the Telugu version was booked first.”
While the Instagram user joked that she was having ‘fun’ as the audience continued to argue, police and theatre management had to intervene to calm the people down.

Later, the user shared another video alleging that the theatre screened the Hindi version of the film despite having sold tickets for the Telugu version.

As the video started doing the rounds online, one Instagram-user joked, “Movie already 4 hours, Inko 1 hour extra fun (Movie is already four hours long, one more hour of added fun).”
Another wrote, “1st half telugu lo vesi 2nd half hindi lo veste saripothunde anthey simple (Ask them to play the first half in Telugu and second half in Hindi, simple).”
One joked that she should have booked tickets for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ instead.
Written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ tells the story of an Indian spy sent to Pakistan’s Lyari to crack down a terrorist network. Ranveer, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and others reprised their roles for the film.
