One More COVID-19 Death In Bhubaneswar; Odisha’s Toll Rises To 77

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw three COVID-19 patients succumbing to the virus while another two died of other health complications on Wednesday.

The Health Department sources said that a 65-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes, a 72-year-old man of Bhubaneswar, and an 86-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from chronic hypertension died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

This is for the second consecutive day that the Odisha capital saw a COVID-19 death. A 71-year-old man from Bhubaneswar with blood cancer had succumbed on Tuesday.

With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the state rose to 77 with 46 of them alone from Ganjam.

The virus has so far claimed 13 lives in Khurda, eight in Cuttack and two in Puri, one each in Angul, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Gajapati, Bhadrak and Bargarh districts.

The two COVID-19 patients, who died due to other health complications on Wednesday, have been identified as a 72-year-old man of Ganjam district who passed away due to severe traumatic brain injury, and a 52-year-old man of Khurda district who passed away due to coronary artery disease with left ventricular dysfunction, the sources added.

Meanwhile, another 618 fresh COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 14898.
