Bhubaneswar: A 24-year-old youth cut off his genitals and threw it into the scared fire during a ritual at Shathipalli village in Nayagarh district on Sunday over an alleged one-sided affair.
The youth took the step after a girl from the same village rejected his love proposal, sources said.
He was rushed to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, after his condition deteriorated, the sources added.
