Online Education For Class X Students In Odisha From This Year: Minister

Bhubaneswar: With the untimely closure of educational institutions and suspension of annual examinations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha government on Tuesday advised Class X students of government schools to opt for online studies from this year.

“The state government has asked the students to remain indoors for the safety of their health. As the courses have remained incomplete due to the closure of educational institutions, we have advised the students to go for online studies,” School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said.

The minister also stated that the students to be promoted to Class X this year will be provided with online education.

“The students who have a desktop or laptop with internet facilities in their homes should download the DIKSHA app for online studies. The teachers will be instructed to guide the students,” Dash said, adding that the online education will begin after April 14.

DIKSHA is a national platform where teachers, students and parents interact with each other regarding all school activities. The teachers use this platform to access and create high-quality teaching, learning and assessment resources in all subjects, discuss difficult concepts with other teachers, view their teaching history and receive official announcements from the education department.

Through this app, the students can revise lessons, practice academic exercises, find additional materials on difficult topics as well as get immediate feedback from their teachers.

The students can also scan QR codes in their textbooks for easy access to associated lessons. Parents can follow all classroom activities and clear doubts regarding their children after school hours.

Besides, users can store and share the content offline, even without internet connectivity.

Notably, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently launched e-contents for all subjects on DIKSHA.
