Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is mulling doing away with the mandatory visit to the RTO for a learner’s licence with the launch of a proctoring module, where applicants can appear for the test at home.
The National Informatics Centre is giving finishing touches to a tamper-proof proctoring system, which would capture the applicant taking a test and check any kind of manipulation, including the use of dummy candidates, and the Commerce and Transport Department may roll out the service from January 1, 2023, a TOI report said.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
>> Applicants have to download the proctoring application on his/her computer for the LL test
>> Once downloaded, it will lock the browsing system of the computer where candidates cannot use the internet
>> Pen drive will also not function
>> Real-time photo of the applicant authenticated through Aadhaar card
>> The proctoring system can detect any unfair means
>> Candidate movement is also screened during the exam
The application can detect any suspicious movement, sounds and gestures, and disqualify the candidate, sources added.
