Bhubaneswar: In a bid to encourage the artists to come out with their creations during the lockdown, online programmes will be organised under the aegis of Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi.
Around 1,000 students in the age group of 18 to 30 years pursuing visual arts in various institutes will be nominated to participate in the online programme. Each of them will be paid Rs 1,000 as incentive.
Similarly, 300 artists above 30 years can participate in the programme and will be paid Rs 5,000 each, said Manoranjan Panigrahy, Principal Secretary, Culture Department at a meeting chaired by Culture Minister of State for Tourism, Odia Language, Literature and Culture on Friday.
Stating that the online programmes will continue for one month, the secretary said applications can be submitted online and a panel of eminent artists will select the participants.
President of the Akademi and eminent sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik was also present at the meeting.
