Bhubaneswar: To ensure regular attendance of students and teachers in schools, the Odisha government has decided to implement online attendance system.
Briefing the mediapersons here on Friday, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash said that through the online attendance system, his department will be able to know the attendance of the students and teachers directly from the Lok Seva Bhawan.
He said that it will be started as a pilot project with one school in each district and the remaining schools in the state will be covered in subsequent phases.
Stating that a decision has been taken to identify 100 schools as the school of excellence, the minister said the Spoken English and computer classes will begin in 100 schools from the current academic session for which the state government will provide necessary infrastructure.
He also said that his department has issued students’ helpline number 144171 to enable them to redress their grievances without delay.
