Washington DC: As Iran continues to show dogged defiance despite being repeatedly bombed and threatened and warned, Donald Trump is getting more and more angry and desperate about Tehran refusing to take off the blockade on the critical Strait of Hormuz.
So much so that he used expletives and profanity in his Sunday morning (Washington DC time) post on Truth Social, ordering Iran to open the “f****n strait” by Tuesday or be prepared to live in hell.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” Trump wrote.
The latest abusive warning, hardly befitting a person of the stature of an American President, according to political analysts, comes a day after Trump reminded Iran that time was running out to open the Hormuz strait.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out — 48 hours before all Hell will reign (sic) down on them. Glory be to GOD!” Trump had written on Saturday.
It was on March 21 that Trump first threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants, starting with the largest, if the country did not “FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS.”
Two days later, Trump postponed strikes on power plants for five days amid what he claimed were “very good and productive conversations” with Iranian authorities. The deadline was later extended to 8 pm Monday (0000 GMT Tuesday).
Experts have warned that attacks on civilian energy infrastructure could constitute a war crime.
