Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released the schedule for the 2024 Civil Services Preliminary Examination.
As per the notification issued by the OPSC, the CSE Prelims is scheduled to be held on October 12, this year. The recruitment process aims to fill 265 posts.
“In continuation of this Office Notice No. 3207/PSC, dt-15.05.2025, it is for the information of all concerned that the Commission has decided to conduct the Odisha Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination-2024, pursuant to Advt. No. 07 of 2024-25 on 12.10.2025 (Sunday). The detailed programme of the said examination shall be notified later. The candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission at opsc.gov.in for further information,” the notification uploaded on the OPSC website said.
The selection process adopted by the OPSC includes a preliminary examination (objective type), after which the shortlisted candidates will write the main examination. The main examination will consist of both written tests and an interview to select candidates for various services and posts.
Only those candidates can apply for the posts who possess a Bachelor’s degree from any university recognised by the government.
The age limit for candidates is between 21 and 38 years as of January 1, 2024. This means that OPSC applicants must not have been born earlier than January 2, 1986, and not later than January 1, 2003.
The OPSC preliminary exam will have two compulsory objective-type papers, each carrying a maximum of 200 marks for Paper I and Paper II.
A detailed notification outlining the application schedule, syllabus, exam format, marking criteria, mains examination structure, number of vacancies to be filled, and other key information will be published soon.
OPSC has advised all candidates who have applied for the Odisha Civil Services Examination to regularly check its official website, http://opsc.gov.in, for the latest updates.
Apart from this announcement, OPSC also released the programme for Document Verification and Personality Test for the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2023, conducted under Advertisement No. 20 of 2023-24.
The verification and interview process for 806 provisionally qualified candidates, including 293 women, will be held between September 6 and September 18, 2025, excluding September 13. The process will take place at the OPSC office located at 19, Dr. P.K. Parija Road, Cuttack-753001.
