Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for five districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 4.33 pm on Monday.
Moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain may occur at a few places in the districts of Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Ganjam, Jajpur, Kandhamal and Khurda (including Bhubaneswar City) in the next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The IMD has warned of thunderstorm along with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati till Tuesday morning.
