Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a orange warning for five districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 5.30 pm on Sunday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning accompanied by surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and Dhenkanal in three hours.
The weather agency has warned of minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places.
Odisha has been experiencing pre-monsoon showers since Saturday with cloudy weather, in most places with light to moderate rain in many places and heavy downpour in some areas.
