Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for nine districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, till 7 pm on Tuesday.
Moderate thunderstorm along with hail, lightning and light to moderate rain may affect some parts of Malkangiri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Sundargarh and Nayagarh.
The state capital has already been witnessing heavy rain, accompanied by severe thunderstorm and lightning since 4 pm.
The weather agency has warned of damage to loose/unsecured structure and standing crops. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places accordingly.
