Ganjam: People in two states on Saturday benefitted from the organs of an Odisha man after he was declared brain dead in Surat.
Bipin Raghunath Pradhan from Bhatapada village in Kabisuryanagar block of Ganjam district had been staying at Zupadpatti in Siddharth Nagar of Surat for the past 35 years.
After suffering from a brain haemorrhage, doctors at Kiran Hospital transplanted his organs with his family’s permission. His heart was sent to Mumbai, liver and kidneys to Ahmedabad and eyes remained in Surat.
