Orissa HC Issues Stay Order On Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award Rules
Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has issued an interim stay order on the state government’s notification over framing of new rules for Odisha Sahitya Akademi Awards.
The HC also asked the state government, Odisha Sahitya Akademi (OSA) president and secretary to file their replies.
The HC issued the order on a petition filed by OSA sub-committee chairman Dr Nrusingha Charan Sarangi.
The sub-committee was formed to formulate new rules for OSA awards. After drafting the new rules, the sub-committee sent it to the state Culture Department for approval.
However, instead of approving the rules, the government formulated a new set of rules and issued a notification.
