Cuttack: In order to ease the process of filing cases and save time and labour of litigants and advocates, the Orissa High Court has adopted e-filing 3.0.

Senior judge and Chairperson of the Supreme Court’s e-Committee Justice DY Chandrachud inaugurated the e-filing 3.0 at the auditorium hall of Odisha Judicial Academy in Cuttack on Saturday. The new version will also be available in district and taluka-level courts.

Justice Chandrachud also inaugurated Vulnerable Witness Deposition Centres & Virtual Courtrooms and Odisha Judicial Workflow Automation System during the occasion.

Orissa High Court is the first high court in the country to implement the latest version of e-filing. Developed by the NIC, e-filing 3.0 is an advanced software which will allow operation of virtual courtrooms. With this facility, trials can be held anywhere regardless of where the judge, advocates, witness or the accused are present.

As a result, it will save time, energy and money as the litigants would not have to run to courts or attend meetings with their advocates. It will also lead to automatic digitisation of case records.

Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Dr Justice S. Muralidhar and judges amd office-bearers of the High Court Bar Association were present at the event. Chief Justices of other states also attended through virtual mode.
