Oscar-Winning Filmmaker To Make Documentary On Elon Musk
New York: Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney is working on a documentary on Elon Musk, The Guardian reported.
“I have been working on this film, off and on, for some time and am hugely excited about it. I am delighted by this extraordinary group who are working with me. Onward!” Gibney was quoted as saying.
In a typically cheeky reaction, Musk tweeted: “It’s a hit piece.”
Gibney, who received the Oscar for ‘Taxi to the Dark Side’ in 2007, is known for his award-winning documentaries exposing frauds.
His other notable documentaries include ‘Enron: The Smartest Men in the Room’, ‘Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief’ and ‘Steve Jobs: Man in the Machine’.
His latest work ‘Musk’ has been described as “a rigorous portrait” of Tesla, Twitter and SpaceX CEO and will examine his global impact.
Hollywood Reporter described ‘Musk’ as “definitive and unvarnished examination” of the second richest man in the world.
The film is being produced by Jigsaw Productions, led by Gibney.
Documentaries on Musk have been made before also – ‘Elon Musk: The Real Life Iron Man’ in 2018 and the 2022 BBC programme titled ‘The Elon Musk Show’.
He also appeared in Netflix’s ‘Return to Space’ — a documentary on space company SpaceX and ‘Do You Trust This Computer’, a film on artificial intelligence.
