Job Offer: OSSC Seeks Online Applications For SI, Station Officer Posts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Selection Commission (OSSC) has invited online applications from eligible candidates (only men) for the recruitment examination for the posts of Sub-Inspector and Station Officer (Fire Service).

According to an OSSC notification, the total number of vacancies is 60. The commission will soon release the date of application.

The candidates are advised to refer to the detailed advertisement to be uploaded soon on the official website of the Commission: www.ossc.gov.in.

Vacancy Detail

  • Sub-Inspector – 47 posts
  • Station Officer (Fire Service) – 13 posts

Educational Qualification

  • For the sub-inspector post, the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • For Station Officer post, a candidate must be a science or engineering graduate.
  • The candidate (for both categories) must be able to speak, read and write Odia. Those aspirants who have not taken Odia as a subject in HSC, must possess a certificate of passing ME (Minor Examination) Odia as a language subject.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21-25 years as on 01.01.2020. Upper age relaxation is applicable for Sc/ST/Ex-Servicemen, candidates as per government norms.

The application is Rs 200, which is to be paid online. SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Physical Measurement and Physical Test
  • Main Written Examination
  • Assessment of Weightage mark for NCC Certificate; winning medal in National/International Sports events as per the uploaded documents at the time of applying for the advertised posts.
  • Viva Voce cum Psychological Test

Important Details Regarding the SI and SO Posts

  • Candidates will have to apply online through the official website. No other mode of application will be accepted.
  • Candidates have to download the admission certificate from the commission’s official website for appearing for the examination at different stages of recruitment. According to the official notification, no admission letter will be sent by post.
  • Candidates, as per their eligibility for the advertised posts, may opt for different posts in order of preference.
