Bhubaneswar: Congress Odisha in-charge A Chellakumar on Wednesday warned BJD leaders of a fate similar to Health Minister Naba Das, who was allegedly gunned down by a policeman on January 29.
“Today it was Naba Das, tomorrow it could be some other BJD leader. Voices of discontent are being stifled under the Naveen Patnaik regime,” he said.
“There are reports that Naba Das aspired to be the next CM. I have watched the footage of his killing and do not think the ASI is behind the crime. There seems to be a conspiracy behind the murder and he was only used as a pawn,” he further said.
Chellakumar said that he had no faith in the ongoing investigation. “BJD is resorting to hooliganism in the state. A coterie group is running the Chief Minister like a puppet. Congress will raise issues like deteriorating law and order situation, Naba Das murder case, corruption, chit fund and mining scam in the upcoming Assembly session,” he added.
