Outage At NTPC’s Darlipali Unit Not Due To Coal Shortage: Odisha Energy Dept
Bhubaneswar: The outage at NTPC’s Darlipali Unit 1 is not due to coal shortage, the Energy department clarified on Sunday. The Department issued the statement after sudden outage of 800 MW capacity unit (Odisha share 400 MW) at NTPC’s Darlipali power station on Saturday led to load regulation leading to inconvenience to the consumers.
The department said the unit’s revival started at 11 am on Saturday and during turbo-regulator (TG) rolling at 4 pm, high vibration and abnormal sound noticed from TG bearing 7. Hence, the TG was manually tripped for inspection and remedial action taken.
The unit provides 400 megawatts of electricity to Odisha.
