Over 1.04 Lakh Ineligible Beneficiaries Identified Under KALIA Scheme: Odisha Min

Bhubaneswar: Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Sahoo on Wednesday told the Odisha Assembly that over 1.04 lakh of the 56,14,707 beneficiaries under the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme have been declared ineligible.

Replying to MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, the minister said that the benefits of the scheme are being provided through Aadhaar authentication and bank account verification to ensure that no single beneficiary is left out.

In his reply to an unstarred question of MLA Prafulla Samal, Sahoo informed that 36,50,873 small and marginal farmers and 17,04,733 landless farmers have benefited from the scheme.

“Those who have not been covered under the scheme can apply online with the required documents on the KALIA Portal. The process of compiling a list of eligible farmers for the scheme is underway,” he added.
