Speaking to media earlier in the day, Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra said that all beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur Municipal Corporations have received the first shot. So also 3540 villages, including Riamal, Tikabali, Raikia, G Udaygiri and Belguntha.

“The 3.1 crore eligible beneficiaries will be inoculated with a single shot of the vaccine by December-end,” he said.

Mohapatra further said that messages are being sent to people about the pending second dose. Those who are unable to visit the vaccination centres to take the vaccine shots are being jabbed at their respective houses, he said.

“ASHA and Anganwadi workers are being rewarded for their work in the fight against COVID-19,” he added.
