World’s 3rd largest hotel chain OYO is planning to create more jobs in Odisha. The company’s CEO Ritesh Agarwal, who hails from Titlagarh, met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard here on Thursday.
After the meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, Ritesh told the media that investments via OYO in Odisha were on a rise and they had 7500 rooms here.
“Last year, OYO served hundreds of thousands of customers in Odisha, provide 5000 jobs and plans are afoot to create more jobs in the state. Odisha continues to be one of the states that inspires young people to become entrepreneurs,” he added.
Ritesh also appreciated the infrastructure being built for the heritage corridor in Puri and said that it would definitely increase opportunities.
“It is the absolute commitment of OYO to create national and worldwide jobs. OYO has already created hundreds of thousands of jobs through the hotels it operates within India. Of course, OYO is evolving its strategies and some tough decisions may be taken in the interest of the company, but we are committed to bringing hundreds of thousands of more jobs to India and thousands of jobs to Odisha,” said Ritesh.
Notably, OYO had recently decided to lay off 2,400 employees, which is 20 per cent of their workforce.
