Srinagar: Amid the global havoc due to coronavirus pandemic with countries trying hard to contain the spread of the virus, Pakistan is devising ways to push COVID-19 positive terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir.
The Director General of J&K police, Dilbag Singh on Wednesday said that Pakistan has been sending COVID-19 infected terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir.
With 407 total cases being reported from the valley so far, the police are continuously issuing warning to the people to not give shelter to the militants and keep a continuous watch on those hiding in nearby areas.
“Till now Pakistan had been sending militants with arms and ammunition into J&K, now the neighbouring country is pushing in militants who are infected with COVID-19,” Singh was quoted by media as saying.
Besides reviewing the security situation, the police are keeping a close eye on the quarantine centres as well, he said.
In a recent violence, the security forces had shot down four militants in the Shopian district of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has risen to 10,072 with 209 deaths.
