Pakistan PM Imran Names US Diplomat Involved In ‘Conspiracy’ To Topple His Govt
Islamabad: Imran Khan on Sunday lived to fight another day.
After a no-confidence motion against him was rejected by the deputy speaker of National Assembly, the Pakistan Prime Minister claimed that a top American official was involved in the alleged conspiracy to topple his government.
Imran, who has been talking of a foreign power conspiring to throw him out, referred to Donald Lu who deals with South Asia in the US State Department.
Imran said that Lu warned Pakistani envoy to the US Asad Majeed there would be implications if the Pakistan PM survived the no-trust vote in the National Assembly.
Lu has served in India and Pakistan as Political Officer, and also as Special Assistant to the Ambassador in New Delhi. He speaks Albanian, Russian, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Urdu, Hindi, and West African Krio.
Imran addressed the nation on Sunday following the rejection of no-confidence motion.
As per his advice, the President has dissolved the Assembly. Elections will have to be conducted in Pakistan within 90 days.
