Panel Approves Land For 38 Investment Projects In Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The high-level Land Allotment Committee on Monday accorded in-principle approval for the allotment of around 71 acres to 38 investment projects in Odisha.

The land has been allotted in the industrial estates in Khurda, Chhatabar, Analapatna, Deras, Mancheswar, Rasulgarh, Andharua, Jaanla and  Bhagabanpur.

These projects would bring an investment of around Rs 50,819 lakh with an employment potential of 4479 persons.

These industrial units are in different sectors like vegetable and oil refinery, instant pasta, vermicelli and sweet potato, manufacturing of boats, launches, barges tugs, chemical tanks machine conveners etc., seeds processing, manufacturing of CRGO & LT control panel, manufacturing of garments, packaged drinking water, store for agricultural and food products, ice plant, manufacturing of UPVC doors and windows, seafood processing, cold storage for food processing, offset printing and publishing houses, manufacturing of steel furniture, manufacturing of street lighting mounting equipment, automobile, production of medicine, sanitary napkins, surgical cotton of different varieties, manufacturing of stainless steel utensils, fly ash bricks, ACC blocks and development of tribal education.

Presiding over the meeting at the State Secretariat here, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed the concerned department to ensure full utilisation of the land and its economic use. He also directed to ask the investors for increasing recruitment from Odisha particularly in sectors like food processing, apparel making and manufacturing.

Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Environment, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, who was also present at the meeting, advised that proper disposal of the waste generated from manufacturing and automobile servicing units should be ensured.

Principal Secretary, Industry, Sanjeeb Chopra, Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, Chandra Sekhar Kumar, Principal Secretary, General Administration, Ashok Kumar Meena, IDCO CMD Sanjay Singh and senior officers of the concerned departments were present at the meeting.
