Nayagarh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Crime Branch probing into the Pari murder case of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district received another jolt with the Children’s Court rejecting the layered voice analysis (LVA) test of the accused on Friday.
Talking to the media, lawyer Ranjit Das said the court rejected the SIT appeal for the LVA test as it has already submitted the final charge-sheet.
“The SIT should have either mentioned the need for the LVA test in the charge-sheet prior to the submission in the Children’s Court on February 15 or applied for the same through a special petition,” Das said.
He further said that as per the rules, once the investigating agency submits the final charge-sheet, the police or any investigating agency cannot take the accused to its custody.

After the arrest of the accused in the murder case on December 20 last year, SIT had produced him in the Special POCSO court in Nayagarh mentioning him as an adult and prayed for his Narco test. As the accused was later found to be a minor, the case was shifted to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) which rejected the Narco test, brain mapping and LVA test.
However, based on the report of the preliminary assessment of the social background and history of the accused, the JJB shifted the case to the Children’s Court for hearing.
