New Delhi: Indian Railways plans to run special passenger trains from New Delhi to different parts of the country from May 12.
According to a government release, the Railways will run 15 pairs of trains connecting to Howrah, Patna, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar. More passenger trains will be pressed into service depending on availability of coaches.
Booking on reservation that will be available only on IRCTC site will start at 4 pm on May 11. Ticket booking counters at the railway stations will remain closed and no tickets will be issued from the counters, the release stated.
The passengers with valid tickets will be screened at the railway stations before boarding the train. Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train and it is mandatory for them to wear face masks, the release said.
