Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday announced that the Patha Utsav, which was postponed earlier, would be held in the capital city from December 29.
The BMC made the announcement in a post on its X handle. The Patha Utsav in Bhubaneswar will be organised at Master Canteen Chhaka at 6 am on Sunday (December 29), the post read.
The Patha Utsav was earlier scheduled to be held on December 22. But the BMC postponed it due to incessant rain triggered by depression over the Bay of Bengal.
The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) also deferred the Patha Utsav which was scheduled on December 22.
The road show highlighting various cultural events was to focus on the18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, scheduled to be held in the city from January 8 to 10 in new year, official sources said.
Apart from music and dance, other events including quiz, skating, yoga and cycling were to be held on the road from the Master Canteen to Ram Mandir.
It may be noted that the BMC had launched Patha Utsav in 2016 to engage people in cultural and other activities during the winter.
Last year, the Patha Utsav was started on Christmas with a focus on the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup. It was held at Ratha Road in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.
