‘Pathaan’ Beats ‘Baahubali 2’, ‘KGF 2’; Know Bollywood’s Earlier Blockbusters

New Delhi: Shattering all the records at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan has become the biggest Hindi opener of all time, beating SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 box office record in just three days of its release, according to the early estimates.

The film managed to earn more than Rs 35 crores nett on Friday as it dropped by less than 50 per cent vis-a-vis its first day, according to Pinkvilla. With a three-day total of around Rs 160 cr nett, Pathaan has reportedly surpassed the weekend records previously held by Baahubali 2 (Rs. 127 cr nett) and KGF 2 (Rs. 140 cr nett).

Sidharth Anand’s directorial has crossed Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, the film was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on around 8000 screens worldwide.

Dangal
Starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles, Dangal is based on sisters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, who became India’s first female wrestling champions under the mentorship of their father, Mahavir Singh Phogat. As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film collected Rs 386 crores at the box office and was one of the highest-grossing films in India.
Sanju

A biographical movie on the life and work of Sanjay Dutt (nicknamed Sanju), the film has Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role of Sanjay Dutt. It also stars Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and Dia Mirza in lead roles. Sanju was a massive hit in India and brought in Rs 339 crore.

Aamir Khan’s film centres on a clueless alien who gets lost in Rajasthan’s deserts. Despite being a comedy, the movie raises significant religious problems. Corrupt gods, ridiculous blind faith, and hypocrisy in the human world are all scrutinised by an outsider. The film garnered over Rs 305 crore.
