People With A Criminal Past Arvind Kejriwal’s Neighbours In Tihar; Know Other Big Names Who Have Spent Time Here

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has replaced fellow AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who was arrested last year in the liquor policy case in Tihar’s Jail No. 2. Earlier in the day, Sanjay Singh was granted bail after six months of imprisonment. He was in Jail No. 2 but was shifted to five recently.

Kejriwal has underworld don Chhota Rajan, notorious gangster Neeraj Bawana and terrorist Ziaur Rehman as his neighbours. Notably, Chhota Rajan was once a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim before becoming a fierce rival. Neeraj Bawana is a notorious gangster who has more than 40 cases of murder, attempt to murder, and extortion filed against him. Ziaur Rehman is an alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative. Kejriwal’s former deputy Manish Sisodia is lodged in Jail No. 1, while BRS leader K Kavitha is in Jail No. 6 of the women’s section.

Kejriwal’s cell

It measures 14 feet x 8 feet and has an attached toilet. It is located in the ‘general area’ of the prison meant for convicts. Housing around 600 individuals, the complex is less crowded than the jails meant for undertrial prisoners and has thus been chosen to house Kejriwal, according to the Times of India. Since he enjoys Z+ security, four personnel will guard him round-the-clock in shifts and he will be alone in his cell with a CCTV to monitor his well-being.
