Deogarh: The people’s connect programme, ‘Bate Ghate’, which was suspended due to COVID pandemic by the district administration, resumed in Odisha’s Deogarh town on Sunday.
The programme, which aims at building a cordial relationship between public and the administration, was organised on the streets of the town on first Sunday of every month. On the initiative of Deogarh district collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, it was revived on the day.
Various programmes including yoga, marathon, cycling, plantation, painting, ‘rangoli,’ street play and cultural events were organised at different places from Garden Department office to Pradhanpat in the town.
The programme saw people from all walks of life including government employees, artists, sportsmen, nature lovers, self-help groups, workers of various institutions and students and intellectuals participating in different events and displaying their talents.
They landed on the road to participate in the ‘Bate Ghate’ at 7 am. It also focused on cleanliness, environmental protection, sports and fun.
A feedback centre was also opened to enable the participants to submit their opinions and suggestions of on various problems of the district to draw the attention of the administration.
