People’s Movement Oppose SP’s Transfer In Maoist-Hit Odisha District
Malkangiri: Villagers staged a ‘Prajameli’ (People’s Movement) to oppose the transfer of SP (Malkangiri) Rishikesh Khilari from the Maoist-hit district.
Praising the SP’s efforts for development in the remote area, the protesters at Jodamba also demanded that Khilari’s transfer to Mayurbhanj district should be postponed.
After the construction of the Gurupriya Bridge in the district, the SP was instrumental in the setting up of a BSF camp, the villagers said.
“SP Rishikesh Khilari has made several many contributions for the development of the Swabhiman area. We now have a proper road and other communication facilities at our village. We want him to continue functioning in our area for some more time,” said a villager.
