Mumbai: The first trailer of Kesari, an upcoming period war drama, was released on Thursday.
Kesari is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi in which an army of 21 Sikhs fought against a troop of 10,000 Afghan invaders.
The film stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead. Akshay plays Havildar Ishar Singh who led a battalion of Sikh soldiers from the British Indian army in the Battle of Saragarhi.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari will hit the screens on March 21.
