Rayagada: A physically challenged tribal woman of Niyamgiri hills has been moving from pillar to post seeking a certificate from the District Collector to claim benefits prescribed for tribal persons.
Thanks to the apathy of district administration, visually challenged Krimiti Sikakka, a Dongria Kondh, residing at Uppargumma in Niyamgiri Kurli Panchayat of Rayagada district, has been visiting government offices with her fractured leg seeking a certificate for her deformity. Being illeterate, Krimiti does not know who to approach for a certificate to claim pension for physically handicapped people.
A local youth has accompanied the hapless woman to the District Collector who has accepted her petition sympathetically. Meanwhile, the Block Development Officer has taken appropriate action to provide assistance to Krimiti on orders from the Collector, said local youth Umashankar Kandha Pani.
