Pihu Missing Case In Odisha: Toddler’s Mother Writes To President For Euthanasia
Jajpur: More than 20 months after running from door-to-door seeking help to find her missing daughter Pihu, the toddler’s mother Monalisa Nayak has written to the President of India seeking permission for euthanasia.
The girl of Madhusudanpur under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district was barely 2 years old when she went missing while playing in front of her uncle’s house in the village. Her mother said Pihu went missing on August 9, 2020 and case was filed on August 14, ever since they have staged protests and even approached the district Collector, WCD Minister and OHRC but no action has been taken.
She had also petitioned Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to help find her missing minor daughter and had sought a CBI inquiry into the matter. All her appeals have fallen on deaf ears.

The distraught mother has submitted a memorandum to the Collector, addressed to the President of India, seeking his permission for euthanasia.
“I can’t live my life without my daughter, hence I seek permission from the President for euthanasia,” the young, inconsolable mother wrote in her letter to the President.
On the other hand, the district police said five investigating teams have been formed and the search drive has been intensified to find the girl at the earliest.
