Please Don’t Go For Panic Buying, Police Commissioner Urges Odisha Twin City Denizens

Bhubaneswar: With Odisha going for a lockdown from Wednesday, the twin city Commissionerate Police have appealed to the people to refrain from panic buying.

In a message on Monday, Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said the main objective of the lockdown is to break the COVID-19 chain. But it is now found that the people are going for panic buying in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

“The state government in its lockdown guidelines has made it clear that shops dealing with essential items like vegetables, non-veg items, grocery, medicine and milk will remain open for six hours from 6 am to 12 pm every day. Taking all these into consideration, it is my sincere request to the twin city residents that you do not go for panic buying for today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday),” he added.
