Bhubaneswar: More than 3 lakh students will appear at Plus II final examinations to be conducted across the state from Thursday.

The physical examinations are being conducted after a gap of 2 years when those were suspended due to COVID pandemic. While the examinations were suspended midway as COVID spread rapidly in 2020, those were not held at all last year.

According to sources in Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), which conducts the annual examinations, total 3,21,508 students have been issued admit cards to appear at the examinations in three streams to be held in 1,133 centres in the state.

Of the total examinees, 2,13,432 belong to Arts stream, 78,077 to Science, 24,136 to Commerce and 5,863 to professional courses.

The sources said the question papers have been kept ready in 202 examination management hubs. Those would be sent to respective examination centres by 8 am on Thursday. This year, as per the question pattern, no additional paper would be issued to the candidates in the examinations.

In order to prevent unfair practices by the examinees, the CHSE has formed special squads to inspect the examination centres at random. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed in examination halls.

Keeping the COVID situation in mind, sitting arrangement has been made for the students to sit in adequate distance.

In view of the heatwave, the examination centres have been directed to keep adequate stock of drinking water, ORS and  glucose and make provision of fast aid to meet any exigencies.

The examination will be held from 9 am to 12 noon everyday and the candidates will be allowed inside the centres between 8 and 8.30 am. They are allowed to carry only admit card, pen, sanitiser and water bottle inside the centres.
