PM To Address Nation From Red Fort On April 21; What’s The Occasion?
New Delhi: Indian Prime Ministers traditionally address the nation from Red Fort on Independence Day.
Come Thursday (April 21), however, Narendra Modi will deliver an address from Red Fort on the occasion of 400th Parkash Purab of Sikh guru Tegh Bahadur.
The Prime Minister will also release a commemorative coin and postage stamp, the Ministry of Culture said Monday.
The programme, to be organized by Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, will see 400 ‘ragis’ (Sikh musicians) performing in a ‘Shabad Kirtan’.
The 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Tegh Bahadur is part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Chief ministers of several states and prominent personalities from across the country and abroad will be part of the celebrations, the ministry added.
