Police Adopt Novel Method To Reunite Missing Children With Parents At Cuttack Bali Jatra

Cuttack: Amid a high risk of children getting separated from their parents and families in the crowded Bali Jatra festival ground in Odisha’s Cuttack, a proactive measure has been adopted by the Commissionerate Police.

According to sources, a novel system has been introduced by the police. Specially-designed paper cards mentioning the phone numbers of parents/ guardians are placed in the pockets of children visiting the festival fround.

Ac Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra put it, the police personnel are actively patrolling the grounds, identifying children with their parents or family members. Using a custom-made missing child tracking card, police officials write down the names and phone numbers of the parents and put the cards in the children’s pockets.

The main objective is to facilitate swift contact with parents in case children get separated from them in the crowded environment.

While police will continue to use the public address system to reunite missing or separated children with their families, the introduction of this paper card system is set to enhance the effectiveness and ensure a quick reunion between missing children and their parents.

Police officials hope that by using the information on the paper cards, they will be able to quickly contact the parents after rescuing the children separated from them.
