Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Sunday organised a fair to handover recovered mobile phones, two wheelers and other stolen items to their rightful owners.
At least 141 mobile phones, two two-wheelers and other stolen items worth Rs 1,15,000 recovered by various police stations and property offence prevention and detection (POPD), Team-60 and organised crime and property offence (OCPO) Cell of Bhubaneswar, were returned to their respective owners after verification.
While OCPO cell had recovered highest 60 phones, Sahid Nagar police had recovered 20 and Dhauli police 11.
Likewise, two motorcycles recovered by Airfield and Balipatna police station, and three UPS, two printers, and a laptop recovered by Pahal police station were also returned to their owners.
Commissioner Police Sanjeeb Panda and Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh and other senior officials were present.
According to Commissionerate Police, in 2022, 1,434 mobile phones were recovered and it handed over 1,250 phones to their respective owners. In 2023, 984 mobile phones were recovered, of which 828 were handed over to their rightful owners.
