Police Pick Up Missing Pihu’s Mother On Way To Meet PM Modi In Odisha

Dhenkanal: Mother of Pihu, who has been missing since August 2020, was reportedly picked up by the police on Saturday while she was proceeding to Sambalpur to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per information, she wanted to meet the PM seeking a CBI probe into the case of missing toddler, Pihu, from Madhusudanpur village under Binjharpur police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district. However, she was picked up by a police team while proceeding to Sambalpur and taken to Govindpur outpost in Dhenkanal Sadar area.

Sources said Pihu was barely two-year-old when she went missing while playing in front of her uncle’s house in the village.

Her mother said Pihu went missing on August 9, 2020, and the case was filed on August 14. She subsequently staged protests along with relatives and even approached the district Collector, WCD Minister, and OHRC. She claims that no concrete step has so far been taken to trace her daughter.

After running from pillar to post seeking help, she had petitioned Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to help find her missing minor daughter and had sought a CBI inquiry into the matter. She has also written to the President seeking permission for euthanasia.
