Cuttack: Police raided the house of jailed Dhala Samanta gangster brothers in the CDA area in the city and seized a huge cache of arms and weapons on Thursday evening.
Acting on a tip-off that the gangster brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhala Samanta were operating their crime syndicate from jail, the police conducted the raid.
The raid was going on till the report was filed and the details are awaited.
In August, police had arrested two associates of the gangster brothers, Sasikanta Khandai alias Danny of Kaligali and Ranjit Singh alias Rania of Hasinabad in Chandini Chowk. They had seized two country-made guns, 69 rounds of live bullets and three magazines from the possession of the gangsters.
Dhala Samanta brothers (D-brothers) were arrested in January, 2016 during a special operation launched by Commissionerate Police.
Police had seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, cash and other luxury items from their hideout in Bhubaneswar and residences in Cuttack.
