Bhubaneswar: In a fresh move, the Odisha Crime Branch on Sunday raided a fake online test centre in Bhubaneswar as part of its investigation into the police sub-inspector (SI) recruitment examination scam.
As per sources, the raid was conducted at the fake test centre located at Raghunathpur in Nandankanan area of the capital city following a specific information.
Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch sleuths carried out intensive searches after they received information that deals related to the recruitment process were being made at the test centre.
While the Crime Branch is yet to disclose the ownership of the examination centre, investigation is currently in progress to ascertain the nature of activities that took place in the building.
Officials said that Shankar Prusty, who is under scanner in connection with the scam, was visiting the place frequently for fixing the examinations.
Sources said that Crime Branch officials entered the premises for a thorough search operation after the concerned persons reached the site and opened the building.
It was further claimed that Shankar Prusty was also running several online test centres in Balasore, Puri, Gajapati, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhawanipatna.
