Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar was admitted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, on Friday afternoon.
According to sources, the singer has been undergoing treatment for kidney and liver-related ailments for the past few days and was rushed to the hospital as his condition deteriorated.
AIIMS-Bhubaneswar later confirmed that the 36-year-old singer was brought to the Emergency Department at 1.10 pm, in a very critical condition. “After immediate life-saving measures in the Emergency, he has been admitted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) under the care of Senior Intensivist and ECMO Specialist Dr Srikant Behera,” the medical bulletin said.
It further noted that the singer has been diagnosed with Severe Multi-Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS) affecting the brain, lungs, kidneys, liver, blood clotting, and blood pressure. “The singer is critically ill and currently on non-invasive ventilator support for breathing. He remains under 24-hour close monitoring by the MICU team,” it added.
Sagar gained recognition after winning the second season of the reality singing competition “Voice of Odisha” in 2012. His breakthrough came with the title track of the film Ishq Tu Hi Tu in 2015, composed by Abhijit Majumdar. Since then, he has sung numerous songs for Odia films and music albums, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Odia music scene.
