Post Office Employee Held For Embezzling Savings Of Depositors In Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada: A Class-IV employee of Sub Post Office in Narayanpatna, Brundaban Dalei, has been arrested on charges of embezzling depositors’ money.

Narayanpatna police station IIC said Dalei was absconding for the last two months after the allegedly embezzling Rs 8.73 lakh deposits of people, most of whom are poor daily wagers.

Acting on a tip-off thatDalei was hiding in a relative’s house at Bissamcuttack in Rayagada district, police formed teams and raided the area with the help of local police.

Dalei was nabbed and taken into police custody. Investigation is underway.
