He is scheduled to visit Ghatagaon in Keonjhar on Saturday to offer prayers at Maa Tarini Temple. He will be in Bhubaneswar on Friday and Sunday, when he is expected to fly back to Delhi at around 8 pm.
There are no official statements on his engagements during the 3-day visit. He may meet some top officials to review implementation of major central schemes, sources said.
This is his first visit to Odisha after assuming charge as Principal Secretary to PM.
Das, the former governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), was appointed as Principal Secretary-2 to the PM on February 22, 2025. He is serving as principal secretary alongside Pramod Kumar Mishra, who is also expected to arrive at Jharsuguda airport this afternoon.
Mishra, a 1972 batch officer, is scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony of IIM-Sambalpur on Saturday. He has been serving in the position since September 11, 2019.
Das had retired as RBI governor in December 2024 after a six-year tenure. A career diplomat and a 1980-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, he had also served as the Secretary of Economic Affairs and played a significant role in implementing major financial reforms such as the Goods and Services Tax and the government’s response to demonetisation.
